Bouldering Coaching

Bouldering is one of the fastest and most popular ways into climbing. The freedom of unhindered movement allows climbers to push their technical ability and gain confidence on difficult ground. Bouldering outside, whilst still physical, is generally more subtle than that experienced indoors because there are more options for holds and body position. If you have tried bouldering at the climbing wall and would like to gain experience bouldering outdoors then this is for you.

Andy Whall offers 1 on 1 coaching at a private training facility in the Ariege, France,  or out on the rocks, weather permitting at bouldering areas in and around the Ariege, including Laramade and Targassonne. I can guide you to the best problems and even offer the chance to develop new problems, provide crash mats and arrange transport . Being based in the Pyrenees, I’m very close to some excellent bouldering venues which contain everything from long, power stamina traverses to steep 45 degree walls and fingery highballs, venues also include  great places to improve your footwork as the locals have not forgotten to include a multitude of delicate slabs in the circuits.

All sessions are specific to the individual, coaching is done on a relaxed and friendly basis. One to one sessions are aimed at giving you the best instruction possible; the coach will listen to what you want to achieve, and tailor the coaching to suit your needs and goals, covering areas such as:
